Newbury Town Library Emergency Closing Policy
This document addresses what happens when the library must close due to emergencies such as weather conditions, health or building issues.
In order for the library to remain open to the public, two qualified library personnel must be on site. During the hours that Town Hall is open, the library will maintain its usual daytime schedule as long as Town Hall is open. If Town Hall delays its own opening or closes due to weather conditions, the library will do the same.
When the library closes due to emergency conditions, scheduled library programs will be cancelled. In these circumstances, library users should contact the library to find out when or if the program has been rescheduled.
The Board of Trustees and the Library Director shall review this policy as needed
