FEB 1, 2021: Due to some issues with freezing the StoryWalk is not currently available. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Stay tuned for the completion of the installation of Stellaluna (weather permitting!).

It’s official! The Newbury Town Library has completed its very own permanent StoryWalk!

It is a fun, literacy-based installation set up on our beautiful library grounds. The first story features the Caldecott Medal-winning book, Owl Moon by Jane Yolen, and has a music component. As you stroll the StoryWalk, you’ll stop at displays holding pages of a book, following a story from beginning to end. Scan the QR code on the first station with your smart phone, and you can listen to the soundtrack from The Snowman during your walk. This is a great way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.

At the end of our Storywalk you will have the opportunity to enter our StoryWalk raffle for your chance to win a copy of the book.

We will be changing out the story in the StoryWalk on a regular basis, probably every few months, to keep it fresh and fun. Tell us what books you’d like to see installed. We love suggestions.

If you visit our StoryWalk, please post photos on social media with the tag #NTLstorywalk so we can see how much fun you’re having!

No appointment is necessary to walk the StoryWalk, and you may come any time. Remember that masks are required and to practice social distancing (giving others 6 feet of space) when at the library and on library grounds.
